For those of you hotly anticipating the playable Devil May Cry 5 demo, you don’t have much longer to wait. The official Twitter account has confirmed that it will be available on both the PS4 and Xbox One on Thursday, February 7th.
This news will be particularly exciting to those fans on the PS4 (myself included) who have yet to try their hand at tackling the demonic hoard. Xbox One owners, however, have already done some serious Red Orb acquisition in a special demo that was made available on the platform over Christmas. But as the above tweet indicates, the next offering will deliver some new content to players on both systems, ahead of the title’s full launch on March 8th.
Players who were able to experience the Devil May Cry 5 demo on the Xbox One were able to take the protagonist Nero through the war-torn streets of London and fight a terrifying monstrosity atop the ruins of Westminster Abbey. But the full game will feature additional playable characters – Dante (historically, the main hero of the Devil May Cry series) and a mysterious third individual known as V. With any luck, the new content that’s heading our way on the 7th February will give us the opportunity to take these characters out for a spin. (Dante please.)
I must admit, in all the busyness of the festive period (together with a plethora of new games that dropped into my lap!) I kinda forgot that the arrival of a new Devil May Cry game was imminent. I’m starting to feel stoked, and I can’t wait to take the Devil May Cry 5 demo out for a spin when it lands in Feburary. From what I’ve seen so far, it’s going to be a ton of fun. (And probably humbling!)
