Team Sonic Racing is officially delayed?

In news that is a little sad – but not altogether surprising – it seems that the upcoming Team Sonic Racing may have been delayed until 2019. The news (well, speculation) comes via a tweet from @SAAC_RUS who posted a snap from a booklet at a Russian gaming event.

Now I must admit that my Russian is a little “Игромир” but according to my trusty instant translator, the tweet reads: “Booklet with advertising of the game from the Russian game exhibition ‘Igromir.’ For some reason, the release date is 2019.”

@SAAC_RUS is right to be a tad confused about this, given that the game is currently slated to arrive in the final quarter of 2018. And given that we’re already in the final quarter of 2018 and we still haven’t heard anything, I think it’s safe to be a tiny bit pessimistic. And by “pessimistic” I mean prexactly that. I don’t mean “go after the developer with pitch forks.” 😉

So far there’s no official word from Sega, but we must surely hear something one way or the other in the next few weeks. Personally, I think it would be a very healthy thing if Team Sonic Racing was nudged back to 2019, as great as it would be to play it over the festive period. But I’ll wait until we’ve had some release date confirmation before I delve too deeply into that one.

How would you feel about a 2019 release date for Team Sonic Racing? Okay? Disappointed? Confused? All of the above?? Let me know in the comments below.
